In the smartphone field, many products claim to be “audio-visual flagships.” However, these so-called audio-visual flagships usually only focus on the “visual” aspect and barely touch the “audio.” With the launch of the REDMI K90 Pro Max, we finally have a true “audio-visual” flagship.

Performance is Always REDMI’s DNA
Let’s first look at the design and specifications of the REDMI K90 Pro Max: it features a 6.9-inch “epoch-making New National Display” OLED screen with a resolution of 2608×1200 and a high refresh rate. This display uses the same “Super Pixel” full RGB arrangement as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, offering sharper visuals compared to the common diamond arrangement.

In terms of brightness, the K90 Pro Max reaches up to 3500 nits at maximum and only 1 nit at minimum, with full-brightness DC dimming support. The standard REDMI K90 is equipped with a 6.59-inch 2510×1156 screen, offering similar brightness performance and supporting Qingshan Eye Protection 3.0 technologies.

The back design of the K90 Pro Max is also interesting: a full-width square “volcano” camera module combined with an integrated cold-sculpting process provides a pleasant tactile experience. Three 50MP cameras (including a 5× periscope telephoto lens) are placed on the left side, while the right side houses a standalone bass unit co-developed with BOSE.

Performance-wise, the K90 Pro Max is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (5th Gen) mobile platform, while the K90 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform. Both phones use LPDDR5X + UFS4.1 memory, starting at 12GB+256GB, with a maximum option of 16GB+1TB.

Additionally, both K90 series models feature aviation-grade aluminum frames. The K90 has an integrated cold-sculpted glass back, whereas the K90 Pro Max is equipped with a 3D fiberglass back cover.

For the battery, the K90 Pro Max comes with a 7560mAh Xiaomi Jinsha River battery, while the K90 has a 7100mAh battery. Both phones support 100W wired fast charging and 22.5W wireless reverse charging, with the K90 Pro Max also supporting 50W wireless fast charging. Despite its 7560mAh capacity, the K90 Pro Max is only 7.9mm thick.

Both K90 Pro Max and K90 use ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.

A True Audio-Visual Flagship
As mentioned, the K90 Pro Max is a true “audio-visual flagship.” Let’s start with imaging. The K90 Pro Max is equipped with a 5× periscope telephoto lens for the first time. The equivalent 115mm telephoto lens delivers excellent foreground-background separation and compression capabilities, with a unique perspective effect.

The periscope lens also supports “AI Super Zoom,” which triggers AI algorithms at 20× zoom to significantly enhance image clarity. The main camera features a 50MP Light & Shadow Hunter 950 lens with a 1/1.31-inch sensor, supporting snapshot mode.

Now for the audio: the K90 Pro Max is equipped with a “true 2.1-channel” stereo system co-developed with BOSE. The top and bottom use dual 1115F ultra-linear units, making it one of the few phones with symmetrical speaker units.

For the “.1” component, the K90 Pro Max features an independent rear bass unit. Using a 2016 dual voice coil structure, the K90 Pro Max achieves extraordinary bass performance in a very compact body, with deep and powerful low frequencies far exceeding other smartphones.

In addition to the hardware, the K90 Pro Max also includes two BOSE audio effects, combining software and hardware to create a genuine audio-visual flagship.
