OPPO Find X9 Review: Camera, Battery Life, Performance Tested
In the flagship smartphone market around the 5,000 yuan price range, choices are never scarce. However, models that can simultaneously satisfy imaging needs, battery life concerns, and performance expectations are surprisingly rare. After using the OPPO Find X9 for half a month—from daily commuting to weekend trips—this phone completely cured my “upgrade indecision syndrome.” Today, I want to share my real-world experience and see whether it’s truly worth buying.
Starting with the most intuitive aspects: design and display. The OPPO Find X9’s looks and in-hand feel align perfectly with my aesthetic preferences. The body features a matte frosted finish, making the back panel smooth and skin-friendly while resisting fingerprints. I chose the Frost White color, which feels understated yet premium, suitable for both business settings and casual daily use. The phone is just 7.99mm thick and weighs about 203g, making it comfortable to hold with one hand. Even extended use doesn’t cause fatigue.

What impressed me most is the 1.15mm ultra-narrow four-sided flat display, made possible by third-generation chip-level screen packaging technology. The visual bezels are almost negligible, delivering an immersive viewing experience. The 6.59-inch flexible AMOLED screen supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, offering smooth and fluid scrolling with no visible ghosting. With a 460 PPI resolution and support for 1.07 billion colors, both video playback and image browsing show excellent detail and color accuracy. The screen also reaches a peak global brightness of 1800 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under strong outdoor light—completely solving the frustration I used to have when checking my phone outdoors.
As someone who loves documenting daily life, the camera system is a core factor in my phone choice. The OPPO Find X9’s Hasselblad full-focal-length quad-camera setup fully meets my needs. It includes a 50MP wide-angle main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and a dedicated Danxia color reproduction lens—none of them feel like filler.
In real-world use, the main camera performs excellently for both landscapes and portraits. The 1/1.4-inch large sensor paired with an f/1.6 aperture significantly improves light intake. Night shots show excellent noise control, with highlights well-managed and dark details clearly preserved. Hasselblad Natural Color Optimization is a major plus, producing realistic and natural colors straight out of the camera—no post-editing needed for social sharing. Sunset shots, in particular, show smooth red-to-orange gradients that prompted friends to ask if I used a professional camera. The periscope telephoto supports 3x optical zoom, delivering sharp images even at a distance, and OIS ensures stable handheld shots. The ultra-wide camera’s 120° field of view is perfect for grand landscapes, with minimal edge distortion.

In terms of performance, the OPPO Find X9’s Dimensity 9500 chipset did not disappoint. As a flagship processor, it easily handles multitasking, short video browsing, and demanding games like Genshin Impact and Honor of Kings. I tested Genshin Impact at high graphics settings, and it ran steadily at 90 fps. After half an hour, the phone was only slightly warm, showing excellent thermal management. Combined with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, app launches are fast and large file transfers are efficient, with no noticeable lag in daily use.
Battery life is undoubtedly the OPPO Find X9’s strongest advantage. The massive 7025mAh battery completely eliminates power anxiety. Even with heavy use, it easily lasts a day and a half. On weekends filled with photography, video streaming, and gaming, I still had about 20% battery left by night. When power runs low, the 80W SuperVOOC fast charging is extremely effective—full charge takes just 48 minutes in real testing. The 50W wireless fast charging is equally convenient: placing it on a wireless charger before bed ensures a full battery by morning.

Of course, the phone isn’t perfect, and there are two minor drawbacks worth mentioning. First, the stereo speaker quality is average—high frequencies can sound slightly harsh, and bass depth is limited, reducing immersion when watching movies. However, this isn’t an issue when using headphones. Second, ColorOS 16.0 includes some system ads. While they can be manually disabled, the out-of-box experience isn’t as clean as expected. Once turned off, though, the system feels much more streamlined.
To sum up, the OPPO Find X9 excels in key areas such as imaging, battery life, display quality, and performance. With a starting price of 4,399 yuan, it offers excellent value among similarly priced flagship phones. If you’re a photography enthusiast, concerned about battery life, or prefer a flat-screen design, this phone is definitely worth considering. However, if you have high demands for speaker quality or insist on a completely ad-free system, you may want to think twice. There’s no such thing as a perfect phone—only one that suits you best—and the OPPO Find X9 is undoubtedly a highly recommended choice in the 5,000 yuan segment.
